…it was going to get interesting. It has already.
1:30 wake up call, and we are onto our 2:50am flight, 4 hours east to Papua. All went well.
Landed, in a tiny airport carved out of jungle. Dark clouds, muggy…we are nearly only caucasians around.
We’re greeted by more staff of Indonesia Adventures, they are to escort us to Domestic terminal for another flight.
NO such luck, flight is canceled.
Off to town center for hotel/meal.
We check into a 1 star hotel, ABOUT to sit down to breaky, and we are whisked off, told the plane is fixed.
We get to airport, and plane is not quite ready. Drop our bags, BACK into town,
We write from Oriental Resto.
The COOLEST old guy, just fed us watermelon and some big ol brown fish that i think his dog just dragged in.
It was so good, and the tea is outstanding.
He tells us we can Facebook him. I crack up. We are in Papua, and an old guy in his 70′s running a one room restaurant tells us to facebook him. We are in his bedroom writing this, with the crow of roosters and pidderpadder of drizzle.
Our SPOT coverage is borderline. We’ll do our best. Check the SPOT OF ADVENTURE feature at the top now, for map stuff.
More ‘good news’. Our helicopter is getting a new engine, meant to be tested yesterday. It had not been, by sundown. THIS is going to be the big factor for us.
There is another team, waiting for this chopper too…in Naburi, the next town we go to. We’ll be hanging with them tonight. Euro’s i’m told, should be cool.
We send hugs to all, please stay in touch. We’ll do our very best to blog.
Visit the webites of ALL Jordan’s sponsors because they rock.
Ad Alta- ( to the summit)

“Getting interesting” is one thing when you’ve got all six feet firmly planted on the ground there. But let’s be darn good and sure that chopper engine gets checked out appropriately, OK?
Fresh fish and watermelon in New Guinea sounds about as good as it gets anywhere on the planet. Stay safe, and have fun!!
