We are at the International Guest House in Kathmandu. Showered, waiting on some curry and trying to adjust to the horns honking and 25c/75f temps.
We just got out of there.
Despite 2 days of thigh busting running to get to the tiny hillside town/’airport’ of Lukla (with, by far, the ugliest airstrip I have ever ever seen. And i have seen a lot).
We stayed in the Himalayan Lodge (yes, every other lodge/hotel has the same name), RIGHT at the airport….and [...]

We worked like slaved horses, climbed like our lives depended on it, and lived under the shadow of Everest and all that it is. As for our summit…..not yet. We did two extremely hard days, but frankly….ran out of patience, food, and day light.
